We lead incredibly boring lives. So much so that we are the only species who take on hobbies to have fun. Hobbies are great because they help develop certain skills, allow you to pursue your interests and make you want to set high goals for yourself. However, no matter how interesting your hobby is or how happy it makes you, hobbies inevitably are boring some of the time. There's only one way to relieve that boredom and bring the spark back to your activity of choice: the shambling remains of the groaning and screaming undead. Skeptical? It's understandable. However, we have irrevocable proof that most all activities are more fun, exciting and bracing with a healthy dose of zombies. Just take a look at these five games that prove "zombie" almost rhymes with "hobby" for a reason.

Hobby: Gardening
Game: Plants vs. Zombies
Why it's more fun:
Gardening can be hard work. Spending all those long hours beautifying a patch of land can work up a sweat and a healthy appetite. You know what's missing from that? Motivation. Throw some of the walking dead into there and you've got yourself a party. Quit growing those cherries and sugar snap peas and move on to plants with heavy offensive capabilities, like the Cherry Bomb or the Peashooter. Even shopping is a blast because in this post-apocalyptic world, the only way to get new supplies is from your neighbor, Crazy Dave. Even if you're tired of gardening, participate in activities like Zombie Bowling with some of your giant wall-nuts as balls, or use your hard earned cash to grow plants that will provide you with cash to use in your ongoing war against the undead destroying your garden.

Hobby: Shopping
Game: Dead Rising
Why it's more fun:
There are just so many choices when you're at the mall. Whether you're going to the food court, or you're there to sample the latest fashions everyone can agree that it's impossible to afford all the wonderful items that are in a mall. Well, no more of that for you, because in Dead Rising, you're trapped inside a shopping mall with a whole bunch of the undead - that means your shopping spree just became a whole lot more vital. Use that push broom to hit zombies over the head and when it breaks, use it as a spear. Grab that tennis ball gun and go to town. You can even use a lawnmower inside the mall for the ultimate in landscaping.

Hobby: Delivery Man
Game: Elite Beat Agents
Why it's more fun:
In Nintendo's Elite Beat Agent, there is a special unlockable bonus level featuring a large, burly peanut deliveryman who finds himself smack dab in the middle of a zombie outbreak. The only cure? Peanuts. Using your amazing driving skills, help cure citizens by force-feeding them your favorite snack food. After taking on the general civilian population on your normal delivery route, then use your newfound peanut blaster to destroy the tentacled abomination trying to destroy the main warehouse. Just like all the other missions in Elite Beat Agents, this one is accomplished to the tune of Destiny's Child's "Survivor." What's bad about that?

Hobby: Modeling
Game: Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers
Why it's more fun:
To be honest, I'm not sure what the motivation was for bikini-clad models to start taking up swords and machine guns to start doing huge damage to the undead, but it happened. As you destroy undead with a variety of different weapons, you can earn new outfits to model for the undead horde as you chop off their limbs while riding a motorcycle. Each level is actually just more ridiculous than the next as you cover a secret plot to turn the entire world into the undead. But hey, modeling is never more fun than when you get to reap the souls of the zombie horde with a giant samurai sword.

Hobby: Visiting your Grandmother
Game: Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ
Why it's more fun:
(Yes, this game actually exists.) Visiting your grandmother to bring her a wonderful basket of goodies? How about instead you bring her protection from the mindless zombie drones! After saving her grandmother from a wolf attack for upwards of 100 times, Red discovers that something has gone terribly awry in Storyland. Play as Little Red Riding Hood as you battle your way through a number of fairy tale locations including your grandmother's house, and locations representing classic tales like Pinocchio and The Three Little Pigs. While the game may be incredibly simplistic in its gameplay of simply shooting zombies, it's difficult to deny that the draw of destroying the undead makes for a much better visit to grandma's.
